
Welcome to the official website of the Graduate Research Program "International Business Administration" (Government Gazette 1818/22-5-2018 T.B), organized at the Kavala Campus by the Department of Management Science and Technology of the School of Management Science and Accounting of the Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH). The Program has been operating since the academic year 2016-2017, in accordance with the provisions of Law 3685/2008 (Government Gazette 148, Section A'), as amended (Gazette Β’ 3551/ 23-9-2019 amended by Gazette Β’ 2163/ 4-5-2022) and (Gazette Β’ 3510/ 25-9-2022 amended by ΔΦ 2.1/26565/ 13-12-2022) and in force.
Scope and Objectives of the Programme
The focus of the programme is Business Administration with an International Orientation. It aims to deepen and expand scientific knowledge, techniques, and research in the field of Organization and Management within the context of a globalized economic environment.
The main objective of the programme is to provide an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the parameters and factors that interpret the past, define the present, and anticipate the future of the long-term survival of SMEs and organizations under conditions of uncertainty and high risk in the international economic landscape. In this context, the MPhil Programme aspires to equip students with the theoretical knowledge required to interpret the complexity, structure, and direction of strategic decisions that guide businesses and organizations toward competitive advantage and long-term survival on a global scale. Furthermore, it seeks to provide students with the scientific and methodological tools necessary to become active members of the academic and research community in the field of management science, particularly in areas relating to the global economy.

Degree Awarded
The Program awards a Postgraduate Diploma in Research (P.D.in R.) in "International Business Administration" and is equivalent to the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) granted by universities abroad (Europe, America and Australia).
Eligible Candidates
Eligible applicants include graduates from Greek universities in related fields, as well as graduates from recognized and equivalent institutions abroad.
Duration
The duration of the Research-Oriented Master's Degree is two academic years (four semesters). The first two semesters are devoted to coursework and the preparation of the research proposal. The third and fourth semesters are dedicated to conducting the Master's Thesis (research-based).
Curriculum
The programme is full-time. During their studies, postgraduate students are required to attend postgraduate courses, participate in lab exercises, and complete a research dissertation.
Students must complete a total of ten (10) core compulsory courses - five (5) in the first semester and five (5) in the second semester - corresponding to 30 ECTS each semester (total of 60 ECTS for coursework).
In the third and fourth semesters, students are required to complete a Research-Based Master's Thesis, worth 60 ECTS.
The total number of ECTS required for graduation is 120.
The Program is taught in Greek.
Student Intake
The maximum number of admitted students per academic year is fifteen (15).
Additionally, academic staff (Ε.Ε.Π., Ε.ΔΙ.Π., Ε.Τ.Ε.Π.) holding a first-cycle university degree are eligible for admission, in accordance with Article 34, paragraph 8 of Law 4485/2017.
Faculty
Courses are delivered by faculty members of the Department of Management Science and Technology and other departments of the DUTH. Faculty from other universities in Greece and equivalent institutions, as well as other teaching categories defined by Law 4485/2017 (Article 36), may also participate in the programme.
Facilities
The programme is supported by the existing infrastructure of the Department of Management Science and Technology and DUTH - Kavala Campus, including appropriate facilities, library, audiovisual equipment, computer labs, and other necessary resources.
Programme Duration
The Master’s Programme will operate until the end of the 2025 - 2026 academic year, after which its continuation will be subject to evaluation.
Tuition fees
The programme is tuition-free. There are no fees for participation.
